Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about BraiseInbox, email deliverability and the beta.
The BraiseInbox product
What is BraiseInbox?
BraiseInbox is an email deliverability service. It connects your inbox to a network of real addresses that interact with your messages (opens, reads, replies, spam rescues). These engagement signals train your sender reputation with Gmail and Outlook, which helps your emails reach the inbox rather than the spam folder. It is a warm-up and reputation tool, not a campaign-sending tool.
Who is the service for?
For people and teams whose emails need to land: sales and growth doing outreach, founders, agencies, and any organization sending newsletters or transactional email. If your messages hit spam, get few replies, or land in the Promotions tab, this is for you. BraiseInbox is especially useful for a new address or domain with no reputation history.
How is it different from a tool like Mailreach or Lemwarm?
The warm-up principle is the same; the difference is the nature of the network. Mailreach and Lemwarm rely on a mutualized network shared across all clients. BraiseInbox uses a private network of real addresses, aiming for better control over the quality of interactions. We cover this without trashing the other tools in our warm-up tools comparison.
Does BraiseInbox guarantee my emails will reach the primary inbox?
No, and be wary of any tool that promises it. Final placement belongs to the mailbox providers, which decide based on many signals. BraiseInbox improves the ones you control, reputation and engagement, which significantly raises your chances of reaching the inbox. But no 100% inbox rate can be guaranteed. Solid authentication and clean lists remain essential on your side.
Does it work for cold email outreach?
Yes, and it is one of the cases where reputation matters most. Cold outreach generates little engagement and a high complaint risk, which burns a domain fast. BraiseInbox warms your inboxes and maintains their reputation in the background to offset that deficit. We recommend isolating outreach on a dedicated subdomain, detailed in our cold email and dedicated subdomain articles.
Does it work for marketing email (newsletters, campaigns)?
Yes. Even though a newsletter targets subscribers, its deliverability depends on sender reputation and real engagement. BraiseInbox helps maintain that reputation, notably to escape Gmail's Promotions tab and reach the Primary tab. It complements your sending tool: BraiseInbox works the reputation of your inboxes, your platform sends the campaigns.
Why the name BraiseInbox?
"Braise" (embers, in French) evokes the gradual warming of a warm-up: you do not start a fire, you tend it to the right temperature. "Inbox" is the destination. The name sums up the promise: warm your reputation to reach the primary inbox, without burning your domain.
The free beta
How does the free beta work?
We are testing BraiseInbox in real conditions. You join the beta, connect your inbox, and get full access to every feature for 30 days, with no credit card. In return, your feedback helps us improve the product before public launch.
How long does the beta last?
The free access is a full month, that is 30 days from your signup. The beta phase as a whole is not fixed: it continues as long as we refine the product with early users.
Do I need a credit card to join the beta?
No. No credit card is required to join the beta or during the 30 days of access. You will never be charged by surprise at the end of the period.
What happens at the end of the beta?
At the end of your 30 days, there is no automatic charge. Public pricing will be announced when the beta ends; you can then choose to continue on a paid plan, or not. We will let you know before any deadline.
How do I give feedback during the beta?
Write to us at contact@braiseinbox.com or use the contact page. During the beta, your input carries real weight: early users directly shape the product priorities. Any feedback, even critical, is useful.
How it works
How does BraiseInbox improve my sender reputation?
By generating positive, credible engagement signals on your sends: opens, reads, replies, spam rescues, across several providers. Gmail and Outlook filters judge a sender on its behavior over time. By accumulating these positive signals and avoiding complaints, your domain reputation rises and your future messages are better placed. Reputation far outweighs message content.
What is email warm-up exactly?
Warm-up, or warming an address, is the gradual ramp-up of a sending address paired with the generation of engagement signals. A new address has no reputation: jumping straight to hundreds of emails a day looks like a spammer. Warm-up first builds a history, over about three weeks, before scaling volume. Our complete 21-day method lays out the day-by-day plan.
How does the BraiseInbox network interact with my emails?
Your inbox is connected to a network of real addresses. These addresses exchange messages with yours and produce the expected engagement: they open, read, reply, and rescue your messages from spam when needed. The goal is not to fool filters with fake signals, but to reproduce legitimate behavior at scale, the kind providers reward.
How long does it take to see results?
Count on about three weeks for a new reputation to stabilize, in line with a warm-up. Early signs often appear sooner, but reputation builds over time and is measured on trends, not on a single day. A domain with an unfavorable past may need more time.
Can I measure the impact on my deliverability?
Yes. Track your domain reputation in Google Postmaster Tools, your complaint rate, and above all your real placement through tests on addresses with no history with you. Careful: testing from your own inbox proves nothing, since your provider already knows you. Our free spam checker gives a first diagnosis.
Does BraiseInbox send emails on my behalf?
BraiseInbox does not send your campaigns or commercial emails: it is not a sending tool. It generates warm-up interactions on your inbox through the network. Your campaigns stay managed by your own sending tool. BraiseInbox works the reputation, your platform handles the sending.
Is the content of my emails read or stored?
No. BraiseInbox does not need to read the content of your messages to work: it relies on interaction metadata (timestamp, type of exchange). No content of your emails is read or stored for this purpose. Details are in our privacy policy.
Does it still work if I change domain?
Reputation is built mostly at the domain level. If you change domain, you start with a fresh reputation that needs warming again. However, domain reputation follows you if you only change sending tool or server, since it is not tied to the IP. That is exactly why warm-up focuses on the domain.
Compatibility
Which mailbox providers are supported?
Gmail and Google Workspace are fully supported today. Support for Outlook and Microsoft 365 is announced and being rolled out. Check the how it works page for the up-to-date list of available providers.
Can I use BraiseInbox with Google Workspace?
Yes. Google Workspace runs on the same infrastructure as Gmail and is fully supported. The connection is via OAuth, with no password shared, with limited permissions revocable at any time from your Google account.
Can I use BraiseInbox with Microsoft 365 (Outlook)?
Support for Outlook and Microsoft 365 is announced and being deployed. As you read this, Gmail is the fully operational provider. Check the how it works page to see whether Outlook is already available, or write to us to be notified.
Is it compatible with a custom domain (yourbrand.com)?
Yes. Whether your address is hosted directly on Gmail or on a custom domain via Google Workspace, BraiseInbox works, since it is your domain reputation that gets trained. A custom domain is actually where warm-up matters most, because it is your asset to protect.
Is it compatible with classic IMAP/SMTP (other hosts)?
The connection today is via OAuth, which covers Gmail and Google Workspace. Support for inboxes via IMAP/SMTP on other hosts depends on availability and will arrive gradually. Check the how it works page for the current status, or contact us with your setup.
Is it compatible with tools like Lemlist, Instantly, Smartlead or Apollo?
Yes, they are complementary. These platforms send your campaigns; BraiseInbox works the reputation of the inboxes that send. You connect your inboxes to BraiseInbox for warm-up and reputation, and keep running your sequences from your outreach tool. They do not replace each other, they stack.
How many inboxes can I connect?
You can connect several inboxes. During the beta, access is full. Precise per-plan limits will be defined when the beta ends. For high outreach volumes, the best practice is to multiply inboxes rather than overload a single address, each inbox being legitimate and warmed up.
Security and GDPR
How does BraiseInbox connect to my inbox?
Through OAuth, the standard for secure authorization. You grant BraiseInbox scoped access to your inbox from your provider's screen (Google, Microsoft), without ever sharing your password. This access is limited to what the service needs, and revocable at any time.
Do you store my password?
No, never. The connection goes exclusively through OAuth: your password stays with your mailbox provider and is never sent to us. We only hold an authorization token, which you can revoke whenever you want.
Who has access to my emails?
Access is strictly limited to what the service needs to function, and framed by the OAuth authorization you grant. BraiseInbox does not read or store the content of your messages for warm-up. The detail of the data processed is in our privacy policy.
Where is the data hosted?
Application data is hosted within the European Union. The web infrastructure relies on processors bound by GDPR-compliant data processing agreements. Details and the list of processors are in our privacy policy.
Is BraiseInbox GDPR compliant?
Yes. Data processing rests on clear legal bases (performance of the contract, your consent for OAuth access, legitimate interest in securing the platform). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability. Our privacy policy details the purposes, retention periods and how to exercise your rights.
How do I delete my account and my data?
Write to us at contact@braiseinbox.com to request deletion. Account data is deleted or anonymized within twelve months of closure; billing data is kept for ten years per legal obligations. You can also revoke OAuth access at any time to immediately cut the connection to your inbox.
What happens if I revoke OAuth access?
The connection to your inbox is cut immediately: BraiseInbox can no longer access it or generate interactions. The warm-up stops. You keep this control at all times, from the security settings of your Google or Microsoft account, without going through us.
DNS and advanced setup
Do I need SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up before starting?
Yes, absolutely. Without valid authentication, no warm-up makes up for rejects and downgrades. Since February 2024, Google and Yahoo require these three protocols from bulk senders. Our step-by-step SPF, DKIM, DMARC guide covers the setup across the main hosts, with example records.
How do I check that my SPF/DKIM/DMARC is set up correctly?
You can use an online tool, the dig command on your TXT records, or the compliance shown by Google Postmaster Tools. A test email to Gmail, then "Show original", shows the PASS or FAIL results of all three checks. Our free spam checker also verifies these three protocols at a glance.
Does BraiseInbox modify my DNS records?
No. BraiseInbox never touches your DNS zone. The SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup stays under your control, at your host. BraiseInbox observes and measures, but writes nothing in your records. You keep control of your domain.
What is an RBL blacklist and how do I know if I am on one?
A blacklist, or RBL, is a public list of IP addresses or domains associated with spam, such as Spamhaus. If your IP or domain is on it, your messages can be blocked at connection. You can check your presence with free online tools, then request removal after fixing the cause. Our spam checker flags listings on the main lists.
My domain is new, do I need to do anything special?
Yes, a new domain is the most sensitive case: it has no reputation. The rule is to absolutely not send in volume right away. First set up authentication, then run a gradual warm-up to build history before scaling. That is exactly what BraiseInbox is built for.
What happens if my IP is shared?
On a shared IP, the case for most Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 accounts, the IP reputation depends partly on your sending neighbors and is out of your hands. That is one more reason to rely on domain reputation, the one you control and that follows you everywhere. BraiseInbox focuses precisely on that domain reputation.
Does BraiseInbox help with the 2024 Gmail/Yahoo requirements (DMARC required above 5,000 emails/day)?
BraiseInbox works your reputation and engagement, which are part of the expected foundation. But SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication and one-click unsubscribe remain your responsibility: they are records and settings to put on your domain. Our article on the Google and Yahoo requirements details each rule and how to comply.
Can I test my deliverability before signing up?
Yes, for free and with no signup, at spam-checker.braiseinbox.com. The tool checks your SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup, any blacklist listings, and sheds light on where your emails land. It is a good starting point to know where you stand before launching a warm-up.
Pricing, cancellation and support
How much will BraiseInbox cost after the beta?
Public pricing is not yet announced: it will be shared when the beta ends. During the beta, access is full and free for 30 days, with no credit card. You will never be charged without being notified and without choosing a plan.
Is there a commitment?
No. The beta has no commitment, and the public plans will have none either, billed monthly and cancellable at any time. You can also revoke OAuth access to your inboxes whenever you want.
How do I cancel?
During the beta, there is nothing to cancel since nothing is charged: at the end of the 30 days, no automatic payment happens. On a paid plan, cancellation will be available at any time from your dashboard, taking effect at the end of the current billing period. You can also cut access immediately by revoking the OAuth authorization.
Can I pause my subscription?
During the beta, the question does not arise since access is free. For the public version, the exact pause terms will be specified with the pricing. In any case, you can stop the service immediately by revoking OAuth access, at no cost.
What kind of support is provided?
Email support, at contact@braiseinbox.com or via the contact page. During the beta, early users get priority support: your questions and feedback go to the front, because they directly shape the product.
How fast do you respond?
We reply within 24 business hours. During the beta, it is often faster, as the team stays in close contact with early users. For a deliverability question, describe your context (volume, provider, goal) for a more precise answer.
Can't find your answer?
Write to us, we reply within 24 business hours. You can also test your deliverability for free first.
